Fringe Season 3 DVD

I picked up the Fringe season 3 dvd a week ago and have already watched it all. It's probably my favorite season of Fringe. I know that Fringe is on the bubble to be renewed and I'm really hoping it will be. It's a great show that isn't recognized enough for its acting and great storylines. I hope that we'll get a full fifth season.

Fringe

I'm rewatching and enjoying season one of the tv show Fringe. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the first season and I can't wait for season three. Between season 1 and season 2 Fringe moved their production from New York to Vancouver. Lucky for me I live in Vancouver. Last week I was downtown and fortunate enough to stumble upon Fringe filming at the library. I could tell from the way Anna Torv was dressed and the fact that Kirk Acevedo was on set that they were filming something from the alternate reality. It was cool to see a scene being shot but unfortunately I couldn't tell where the story was going, which makes me excited to see the new season even more. I did have the opportunity to approach Anna Torv and Kirk Acevedo for an autograph. They were extremely nice and happy to do it. I hope to see some more filming soon and maybe I can piece together the upcoming storyline.

I'm a celebrity...who cares!

I just lost 2 hours of my life watching the new celebrity reality show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. 11 D-list celebrities are dropped off in the Costa Rican jungle for 3 weeks to try and win money for charity. Viewers are able to watch and vote them out. Celebs include Stephen Baldwin, Janice Dickinson, Sanjaya, Spencer and Heidi Pratt, Torrie Wilson, John Salley, Frances someone and her friend Angela, Lou Diamond Phillips and Rod Blagojevich's wife Patti. Rod was unable to attend because the judge wouldn't let him out of the country.

After 10 minutes of being dropped off in the jungle Spencer and Heidi quit. They talked to the producer and I guess they made a deal because they were back in it. Then after their first night they quit again. Spencer is heard off camera yelling to take them back home. He's saying how he's too good for this crap and I want my room service. Big deal it's not even really roughing it. It's camping. Their food is provided for them, they have cots off the ground, and water is brought to them. After another talking to Spencer and Heidi are back in for the second time. Only this time they were gone a little too long and the rest of the camp had already begun to divide up their belongings. Spencer flew off the hook when he heard this going on a rant and even slapping a water bottle out of Angela's hand. He was all up in her face. If I were there I would have given him 2 options. Shut your mouth or I'll shut it for you. It was absolutely unnecessary what he did and completely childish. Sorry Spencer but to me you are a no name. You may have money but you're a dick.

Somehow this show is on 4 nights a week. I for one won't be watching it. Why would I want to listen to celebrities complain for an hour a night about how they have to sleep in the jungle after they signed up for it. My rating for this is a FAIL.

MTV movie awards - Twilight sweep

Just finished watching the MTV movie awards hosted by Andy Samberg. Highlights from the night include Bruno's face in Eminem's crotch and his crotch in Em's face, Kristen Stewart dropping her award and LeAnn Rimes/Chris Isaac singing a medley of Samberg hits.

Samberg opened the show putting himself in scenes from Slumdog Millionaire, Twilight and the Reader. He was a pretty good host. A little raunchier than I expected but I guess it's MTV. After presenting a few awards, Twilight won for best kiss, best new actor, best actress, best fight and best film, Bruno shows up in assless chaps and angel wings hanging from the roof. Something goes wrong and they lower him in Eminem's lap. He ends up with his ass fully in Eminem's face. Em is pissed. His people get Bruno off and Eminem takes off swearing leaving the awards. He did not look impressed at all. The show resumed, Zac Efron went upstage and accepted his award, I didn't even hear the category from Bruno, even Zac looked confused. Then the moment many fans have been waiting for since last years Twilight film was the first trailer for New Moon. It was pretty good but still looked really cheesy. Up next was Kristen Stewart's acceptance for best actress. She is so awkward. You can just tell that she hates being the center of attention in public. She fumbles through a thank you speech and as she's about to finish up she drops the award. Cameron Diaz was kind enough to pick up the piece that broke off. Some other stuff happened, Ben Stiller won the generation award and Jim Carrey won an award. Ending the night was best film and of course it was Twilight that won. All cast members celebrated on stage as the credits rolled.

Not a bad show but I wish I could have those 2 hours of my life back. I could have just read about it after the fact. Oh well. Lesson learned.

And the winner is...

American Idol had it's final show of the season tonight and a side from being unbelievably good I'm sure there will be a lot of disappointed faces out there. What a great final show. I think it's definitely one of the best idol finales ever.

There were a ton of guest musicians and group numbers. Among them were KISS, Queen, Rod Stewart, the Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper and even Kara singing in a bikini. At the end of the night it was Kris Allen, the down to earth guy from Arkansas that took the crown. Just less than a 100 million votes were cast and in the end Adam Lambert, the eyeliner wearing showstopper was left in second place.

Now I know there will be much debate about this topic and who the winner should have been and personally I think the American voters got it wrong. But I will say that they are both extremely talented and will go on to do bigger things. Adam did get his face out there and was able to sing with the best of them. If you missed tonights finale you missed out on a lot. Adam came out in black wire wings and sang a medley with KISS. It was full of fireworks and pyrotechnics and one of the best performances of the season. If ever KISS needed a replacement singer Adam could definitely step. He fit so well.

Anyways that's enough of me singing Adam's praises. Congrats to Kris. He did make it this far and was a dark horse in the competition. I look forward to seeing the Idols this summer in concert.

Glee makes me happy!

Glee the new show from fox had its debut tonight after American Idol. It's a show about a teacher and his passion for teaching and glee club. I really enjoyed this show. It had a lot of popular music and while it was a little slow it finished up strong. Then again the only criteria I need to make a show or movie good to me is singing and dancing. If people can get past the first couple episodes and introductions of the characters I think it'll turn out to have a huge following.

Idol Final Showdown

I was really excited for American Idol tonight. I looked forward to it all day and was slightly disappointed by tonight's final performances. The contestants were to sing 3 songs tonight...one they previously sang, a song picked by Idol creator Simon Fuller and their first single if they were to win written by Kara. The night started off with Adam Lambert. He's my pick to win. He started off singing Mad World. It was a song he had done previously in the competition. It was good but I had seen it before. Kris Allen is up next singing Ain't no Sunshine. Again it was a song he sang before so I didn't think it was anything special. The judges commented and Simon declared Kris the winner of round 1. For the next round Adam sang Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cook. It was fantastic. Kris followed up by singing What's Going On by Marvin Gaye. Then came the final song of the night 'No Boundaries' written by judge Kara Dioguardi. Each contestant sang the song and Adam blew Kris out of the water. He had so much more power behind his voice than Kris does and I found Kris was lost in the big Nokia Theatre. I also liked how Adam changed his wardrobe for each song and really presented a rock star front whereas Kris came out in a long sleeved shirt and ripped jeans. I still think it's too close to call. There are a lot of votes that went to Danny last week that are up in the air this week. I have a feeling that those votes will be going to Kris because their music is similar. One things for sure is that American Idol is the show to watch tomorrow. Don't forget to set your PVR's to run late as Ryan Seacrest said they will be running over time. I don't understand this. They have 2 hours to announce the winner and it's still not enough time. Maybe if Idol stopped all the nonsense...we'll get to the results after the break...they might finish on time.
